So sorry with lack o updates. I'm still kickin. Been so busy with ebay lately. In efforts to make ends meet I have introduced misses sizes into the ebay store. It's not exactly what I envisioned but in life you make adjustments as needed I suppose. My heart pines to have a plus sizes only store but it just isn't in the cards for me at this time. Le sigh.

I am also working on a new website design for Hourglass Fashion. I am thinking I want to go a little more modern looking. I would love to introduce a store into it also. That will take a little more work and learning on my behalf. If we only had more hours in the day lol.

Oh I did make a Halloween special for plus size costumes and I put the link up today on HF. It is in the style of the new design I am currently in the middle of designing. Any comments or suggestions are appreciated. I actually have a different navigation top planned but it is not in working order just yet so I just used a banner for now at the top of the Halloween page.

My main objective with the redesign is to make it more modern and less cluttered. I am having a hard time keeping up with updates from vendors the way it is now. Wish me luck on making it more streamlined. I realize many of the links are in dire need of updating on the HF website and I hope to take a couple days to straighten it out in the near future.

It's really off topic but wanted to pass on this heartwarming article I read on Yahoo today about a young girl who turned a cabbage into a movement that helps the hungry. She really is an inspiration to all with her kindness and generosity. Sometimes it seems like nowadays you don't hear about kids being thoughtful like this so it was so refreshing to read. I hope she continues down this path of doing good for others. Big hats off to Katie. We could all learn a thing or two from this little girl.

It seems I am having one of those weeks that just seem to go all wrong. I think it all started when I accidentally opened an umbrella in the house a couple days ago. That same evening the living room flooded after a big rain. Spent the whole night into the early morning hours trying to get stuff moved out as well as about 4-5 inches of water out. Not fun at all. The carpet is still being dried and will have it cleaned today.

To make matters worse, I heard a crash in the living room last night, I go down to inspect what it was and I find a broken mirror. Really? What next a black cat walking under a ladder lol. OMG

I don't really feel like doing anything today but I do need to hit the post office at least to ship out some ebay orders. Luckily all the ebay stuff is upstairs and safe. whew. Here's hopin I find either a 4 leaf clover or a penny on the ground when I'm out running errands LOL. I just always tell myself it could be worse....It could be much much worse :) So I am thankful. You really don't have to spend a lot to look great. Think of pairing one of the tank tops below with a nice linen shirt with some cool capris. Add a couple nice accessories and viola! you look put together and chic. I'm personally not someone hung up on labels. I just want to look my best while not breaking the bank. Here are just a couple of my faves from the Torrid clearance section. It doesn't have to cost alot to look gorgeous! If you find something you love be sure to snap it up before it's gone!

First is this great Beige Sparkle Linen Belted Dress. The stretch belt included does wonders to oomph up your curves by drawing in your waist, giving you a great hourglass silhouette. This morning it was priced at $14.97 and they had sizes 12-26 available! What can I say....I'm a sucker for sparkle.

The next top was originally $38 and last I checked was down to $21.97. If you love sexy tops this one has your name all over it. Check out this
Black and Raspberry Satin Lace Overlay Halter Top. Figuresque is running some sales on their plus size fashions. They have some trendy outfit ideas too. The thing I really like about Figuresque is they provide measurements for each item. We all know how sizes vary so much from brand to brand. Checking measurments before buying is always the best policy :) An easy way to see what measurements you are comfortable with is to take an existing item from your wardrobe that fits you how you like and measure it. This gives you a basic guide if you don't want to try and measure yourself. This is particularly handy when it comes to pants.

Fabric used will also play a part in fit as far as if it has stretch or not. Poly/spandex and cotton/spandex blends are a couple of fabric blends that will usually be abit forgiving. If in doubt you can always email the seller for more information. Hope that helps you abit for shopping online.

IGIGI just released more new dress designs including the Aphrodite dress (pictured below) which is available in the color "Sea Breeze" and also in white as a wedding gown. Simple yet elegant. Perfect for a spring bride with it's pretty white handmade floral accents. Another fantastic feature are the bra friendly straps. Kudos to IGIGI for that innovation! Been busy at eBay - changes upcoming

Sorry I haven't been posting as regularly. I've been working alot on ebay trying to figure out what to do when all the rate changes go into effect on March 30. Essentially my fees to list are increasing alot but exposure will go up. So, in a nutshell...it's fantastic if inventory moves but bad, very bad if it doesn't. I will be crossing my fingers that the new changes don't bring the store to a close because that will definitely take away a big piece of me and I will lose something that I really love doing. Only time will tell.

I am really hoping it will be a positive change, as I have put so much of my passion and time into running the Hourglass Fashion eBay store. It really has been a thrill and learning experience over the years and it has given me much satisfaction to know that my customers have been happy with their purchases. In short, I like to see people happy. Sure, it may just be clothes but sometimes that's all it takes to make somebody's day. I like feeling that hey maybe they will wear this, look in the mirror and say to themselves... Damn I look great - and what a feeling that is!

So, for now I will be focusing on going through my existing inventory and picking and choosing what to list during this ramp up time to the new fees. I plan on listing stuff this week so cmon over to the ebay store if you want to see the new inventory.

For example, I have this gorgeous dress to list but I haven't thought of the perfect title just yet. Any suggestions?

Ok ok I've had my eye on this sexy number for months but I just couldn't justify the cost until last week when it went on sale! I'm calling it my early Christmas present to myself. I got it in the mail and thankfully it fits true to size and it's gorgeous. So, if you are looking for some sexy lingerie I really recommend this item from Fredericks of Hollywood.
