I found this snippet from the NY Times regarding Japan's approach to their population's rise in obesity and thought I would share. As if putting up with skinny people and their prejudice towards us isn't enough. I say, leave us the heck alone. If we measure out with a chalk the amount of space we take up on this planet it really isn't much more than a smaller person. So, what's the big deal?..No pun intended.
In today's day and age, I really hoped for more out of humanity than something trivial like this. I just really can't stand when people sum up everything about a person because of their size, as if we are to blame for the world's problems. What do approaches such as the Japanese bring to our future? Perhaps in a world where everyone is at a government approved body mass index everything will be perfect. There won't be any wars to worry about, no global warming, no infectious diseases. They will able to stand tall knowing they made their mark by eliminating threat number 1....The obese. What is wrong with this world? Exit soap box stage left ~Jax
